Medical Safety
Fisher Labs has thoroughly tested its security metal detectors and discovered no harmful effects on medical implants, including pacemakers and defibrillators. Additionally the detectors have not been shown to be harmful to pregnant women nor to the operators of the detectors. We do understand that certain medical devices have additional requirements that may require special considerations. Users of such devices should follow specific guidelines provided by medical device manufacturers and medical providers.
The electromagnetic fields emitted by Fisher detectors are similar to those found in the everyday environment and therefore not found to be harmful to magnetic strips or recording media.
